Really? You draw a parallel from grade school?
I just want to vomit after reading this post. Why do I want to wretch? This is exactly how my old Market Director spoke. He “prolly” did win grade school elections. Wow! What a track record. Is grade school when you started drinking? Because that’s when your pathetic little brain stopped growing. His ability consists of having a sarcastic comment for everyone and his little minions laugh it up.

That’s what Chase leadership is now, taking their team to new “sarcastic “ heights! There are no good, decent people left in middle management and Senior Management is out to lunch. Rome is burning and the emperor is getting his a-s licked, cuz that’s how he likes it. Sell JPM the next time you hear Dimon talk about Fintech eating his lunch because that’s the beginning of the end kiddos.

“Old broken man, you shouldn't be posting advice as you didnt exactly blaze up the corporate ladder? Does this person pretend to know who wrote this? Getting people in your network to like you is common in all walks of life. (This has a lot to with, oh, nothing). Sounds like you didn't have many friends in high school and you prolly didnt win any elections in grade school.” What??????

Funny you didn’t mention going to college? Why is that we wonder?

Well you “prolly” weren’t very smart in college but at least you were your 6th grade Treasurer! I’m sure you have a framed certificate saying as much.

Wake up! Why are you on a thread about Chase layoffs looking for good news? Brick and mortar is dead. There’s a reason all the newer Chase buildings look like restaurants. 1) They are all leased and 2) coming up for renewal in the next 10 or fewer years. Retail has always been the red headed step child of JPMorgan and their physical presence unnecessary in the next 10 years.

The culture is so dysfunctional now. It happened overnight. All through COVID-19 they had their propaganda machine spewing out how grateful they were for the frontline employees. We went to bed New Years Eve happy to be working for Chase. We woke up to yes we appreciate you, now hit the door. The entire industry is seeing the writing on the wall, don’t waste your time. If you’re young enough to get out, do it. If you’re smart, get a computer science degree!

LOOK bottom line is this all companies will see you as a number and nothing more.. when layoffs happen do not be so ignorant to think management has anything to say about it. The uppers do not look at you and think aww they are really nice and hard worker NOPE!! They draw a line and say anyone making over this gone!! Any one on disability short term or otherwise GONE!! If you have a good working record and kissed enough a$$ you might get hired in another depth. So to think chase is about family, or about there employees WRONG!! Chase is nothing more than a revolving door you will always be in fear for your job ever year to 2 years and if you don't get cut don't worry you eventually will.

I used to say things like “talented people will always have a job at Chase”, not realizing that it takes confidence to surround yourself with talented people. Those talented managers are disappearing. Leaving lay-off decisions, in the hands of administrators in management clothing that think the safest thing to do is to surround yourself with sycophants. Being popular with the boss is not the same as working hard and doing a great job. Chase is transforming and perhaps the result they are expecting is mediocrity at a discount. McDonald’s makes it work.

It’s my understanding is that to keep your bonus you must be employed when the bonus is paid out...which I believe is typically mid January!

Who knows how long you have to stay at the firm after you get your bonus? They had the policy relatively easy to find last year but now I can no longer find it. What is the clawback period? I have no intention of staying much longer after my bonus is paid out.

Why promote to 602? They already have you at price of 601. They are happy to let you think hard work will get you there.

I interpret the below as the younger guy is not worrying about losing his corporate job and is happy while the old man is very very worried about losing his job. Clearly the old man's side hustle is not stable and doesnt pay very well as he would leave his corporate job. The old broken man knows if he were to quit jp morgan he would have a hard time being hired into the banking world at his over inflated salary. Just remember ole bean employment is at will so if you are so unhappy leave and give spot to some younger talent.

I think what the below means is that he is not capable of anything on his own so he had been kissing butts as a kid to go by and can only rely on corporate jobs to pay bills because he is not good enough to achieve on a side hustling since comfort zone is always safe, which makes a full circle and makes perfect sense

Old broken man, you shouldn't be posting advice as you didnt exactly blaze up the corporate ladder. Getting people in your network to like you is common in all walks of life. Sounds like you didn't have many friends in high school and you prolly didnt win any elections in grade school.

Child, first of all, even when you are promoted, you can still get laid off as long as you are an employee at the firm...and second, work hard to get promoted is only what they tell you on the outside, what they are not telling is you need to make higher-ups like you by kissing rears. I bet your school didn't teach you that

Corporate jobs are always cutting, it’s no big surprise. This is why you don’t spend more then 8 hours here. Spend more time on your personal growth or with your family instead, and do not waste your short life spending a single second on overtime here
