So people actually believe the union workers are the fault of all this? Frontier never had the resources to buy Verizon’s wired network. Do you think the union members all got together and did that? No it was your typical money hungry big head decisions. They can and will walk away with their money. All the so called worthless union members won’t be so lucky. Where were you during history class, hiding out somewhere? Wise up, read,learn. There hasn’t been any “out of the goodness of heart”. If things hadn’t changed then today wages would be low, there would be no 40 hour work week, and your kids would probably be working at 8years old to help buy a little bread. My gosh pull your head out of the sand and take a look around the world. Or are you just like the big heads and don’t care about anyone but yourself? Keep trying to get that carrot on the end of that stick that’s just what they want you to do. Oh yeah, come in here boy you’re gonna go far you’re gonna be a star only if you choose to be a self righteous, uncaring about your fellow man human being. Sounds to me like you already are. Oh, by the way I was one of those worthless union workers on the Verizon and Frontier fiber network and I know how hard I and my fellow techs worked every day. Forced by our union contract to work minimum 10 hours a day 6 days a week at the company’s whim. Forget family or evening plans. As long as you were notified by 2pm each day you had to work or be judged by the company as a bad employee and then they could take steps to fire you. Yep I was shopping everyday and hiding my phone to stop gps and they never figured it out that I didn’t work. What planet are you from or what are smoking? Oh I forgot. You’re after that carrot you will never reach.
Praying for a lay off
I agree with Pittsburb, union labor in this company is a total waste. WV is bringing in contractors (finally) and this is long overdue for the rest of the RCs as well. Unions are reserved for skilled labor, I see none of that in Frontier. It obviously is not benefiting the company and draining economic resources-out it goes. Wait until Starlink starts to take over, lets see how many union positions are available there....

HAS THE WORSE AND THE LAZIEST COPPER TECHS BESIDES THE BRADENTON YARD,THE CIRCUIT CREW,WANT A BE CREW,SIT AT THE CENTRAL OFFICE'S MOST OF THE DAY ,DOING WHAT ,BUT WAISTING TIME ,HIDING OUT,HIDING THIER COMPANY CELL PHONES BECAUSE OF GPS,THEN RUNNING SHOPPING ERRANDS, OR JUST SLEEPING, AIR PRESSURE CREW IS EVEN WORSE,THEN THE OVER TIME KICKS IN ,TO REALLY SOAK THE COMPANY,ITS CALLED 820 UNION ,WHICH NEEDS TO GO AWAY,THIS IS JUST SEVERAL REASONS WAY FRONTIER COMM S—S AND A DEAD END COMPANY,JUST LOOK AT THE STOCK IT SPEAKS FOR ITS SHELF, GET RIDD OF THE DEAD WEIGTH AND TURN THIS COMPANY AROUND!
Union workforce will need to be entirely eliminated and some of those employees will remain as non union to naturally improve the overall quality of work. The current union employees simply are not worth the cost and the unions pride themselves too much on receiving their demands without measuring the impact on the company. There's a good reason that the company hasnt even bothered trying to negotiate with the union until the bankruptcy filings are finalized. VPs do not make the overall decisions, no reason for terminating their employment. Union labor accounts for a large majority of the unnecessary costs at Frontier and they can function without a union, it doesnt make sense to keep them or deal with their pedantic negotiation tactics at this point.

There will be no attrition, no incentive to leave, also, old timers who stayed don't want annuity they'll continue to wait it out and get a free paycheck, you guys with less seniority, too bad.
hope you're union didn't convince you of no lay off. They/you hold no leverage.
There will be no layoffs. Just reduction by attrition. Backfills will be halted in most states. More of the same.
