Thread regarding Acosta Sales & Marketing layoffs

Changing industries

I want out so bad I can almost taste it. I’ve been saving for a while trying to figure out what my first move should be. Do I try to begin a new career in another industry? Or do I continue in the same one. Has anyone successfully switched industries? My wife thinks I’m crazy for wanting to leave, but there is only so much I can take.

If you can stick it out for a while before making a move during this covid mess try, but I know what it's like to work for a place and in a job where you are not appreciated, underpaid, overworked, and everything is so toxic you can barely stand it. Perhaps a transfer now if possible, and change of employers in the same industry when things finally calm after being covid crazy, but get away from Acosta when you can. Make an inventory of your skills, experience and number years worked that would possibly be transferable to a different industry. Check out jobs posted on indeed.com and review the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for jobs posted. You may find something that will work for you. But most of all right now, stay safe and well.
