Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

When were you laid off and in what city?

HR has been laying people off all year and likely has more cuts to come this quarter.

I got a call two weeks ago with the subject line “touch base” - when I called in it was HR. DUH you know what that is. I’m in Houston.

The woodlands, walked into work on 2nd shift , started setting up my machine, and then 20 minutes later the supervisor grabs me on my way to get some gloves .

My department had 1 guy let go Last week. He was contacted by the boss saying to give him a call to go over his “touch points” And when he connected, HR was on the line to drop the axe on his neck.

I was laid off by a text message 5:30pm Friday afternoon received when driving home from my line manager. He had no guts to tell me at 5:00 when leaving office where he wished me "have a good weekend see you Monday".

I was working from home, and my boss emailed me for an 8am Tuesday meeting with the subject line “Review.” Low and behold I get on the call and HR was on. I immediately knew what was going to happen next. So dodgy and cheeky! (My boss was British so he knows what I’m talking about). So if you see a meeting with your boss and they’re the only one listed, be prepared HR will be on the call too when the axe man cometh.
