Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Any way to volunteer if we weren't offered to?

I have enjoyed my years here but now it's time to move on. I have received a good offer, but it's from a much, much smaller company and that comes with its own risks. I'm scared to just walk out, but if there was severance involved, it would be much easier to take that step. Hence my question, can I volunteer?

It’s too late, decisions are made and locked. However a less lucrative severance package will be around for the unavoidable 2nd round.

Yep, would just ask if it was too late to EOI, don't mention the offer.

That ship has pretty much sailed. However, anything is possible especially if you have a good relationship with your management. Just approach the subject with them and see what happens. I do advise you to LIE about your situation. Don't tell them you have another gig set up but rather your circumstances have changed for some reason and now if any way possible you could volunteer.
