How to volunteer out the door

So I’m mid career and find myself falling out of love with @XOM. I know lots of ppl want to stay so it seems strange that there is no system already in place to identify ppl who are like me willing to go.

Everyone I know in the company is already at 110% all the time, working through lunches and breaks and st home. How are you realistically supposed to keep up after everyone leaves and work resumes?

Tell them you will take one for team Exxon and willing to lay down your job for them, some people answer to a bigger calling LOL. You either get a fat raise appreciating you for your commitment or they lay you off with severance, there are no lose scenarios.

I would have resigned if they offered me either package. I believe if you volunteer to be let go you will be offered nothing. Otherwise management would have offered that option.

Please communicate your desire to leave with your Supervisor or your S&D contact. Seriatim is being finalized over next ten days - if you want a package, just volunteer.

@ 1qzw+18064WQU same thing happened to me. I started taking two hour mid day breaks at the gym and joined a carpool (sorry, gotta leave at 3 because of my carpool). I am doing way less work than when I worked extra hours but now I’m seen as efficient where before the perception was I must be slow not the truth that I was pulling way more than my weight and getting tons done. Strange the things that propel you up in the rankings.

I tried throttling down my performance and guess what my ranking improved. I felt like I was in OfficeSpace with the two Bobs or something.

It’s fascinating to see a “mid career” person already become so ignorant of how the external job market functions after being at XOM. F’ing go find a new job, that’s how you “volunteer to leave”. Hope your job skills aren’t as rusty as your career management skills.

System to help you leave, it's called gumption. You find another job and you move. Are you really that clueless. Did XOM hire you straight out of college, and you have been living under a rock?

You always have a choice. Please hurry up and leave on you own terms OR in a few years you will get it on XOM terms

Throttle down your performance and get pipped. Your professional brand will take a hit but it’s really the only way.

Haha...you can volunteer to leave anytime without a package. Nice idea but this whole process is designed to they choose, not you.

Why can’t you write out “people”?

Just tell your supv that you want to save one colleague and are glad to let go.
