HPE can't be saved. They are paring it down for sale/merger. It's been coming for a couple of years.

And yeah it is a sinking ship. Just because they have nice and shiny posts on linkedin means nothing. This isn't "the way corporate works." HPE's standard of layoffs is an emergency scenario for most companies during a covid panic. For HPE this is just another fiscal year wrapping up. When people stick around at your company because they hope they can squeeze severance pay out of it you are definitely in a terrible company lol. Again, I think HPE's products are best in class, quality that goes into them is great, but at an operations level they're remedial at best. The company would be a lot better off with smarter leadership in place, but sadly that isn't the case.

I was actually laid off in 2019 from HPE when they did the massive inside sales wfr. I knew back then that was a dumb idea. They have a very near sighted approach trying to use field sales over inside sales. Well in 2020 that didn't work so well since everyone is at home now did it? The worst part was when I figured out that we were laid off by a 3rd party company. Meaning these people had no clue who we were, about our performance, or what our role was. The criteria they laid us off included age, wages, and tenure with the company. I picked that up when I looked at the people around me. I was inside sales but no one knew that I was making almost $90K for the same position that most of them were making $50-60K. Why? Because I was actually crushing my goals and working hard. Even volunteered for weekend events. But on paper Korn Ferry(the layoff company) only sees a huge number. So funny enough, they got rid of people who weren't costing the company a lot of money, but instead were MAKING them a lot of money. I hope 2020 hurt bad. I hope they learned what greed and nearsightedness gets them. They've lost top tier talent, and hard workers because of it.

When do these MBA geniuses figure out that this year's decline in revenue is directly tied to previous year's work force reductions? Keep drinking that saltwater HPE, and when it doesn't quench your thirst for more profits, double down and drink more.

Well "My W2", we're glad you made a ton of money. This could be the last year for that because COVID has shown that whether you are out rubbing elbows with the customer or not, they will buy. Your job too will eventually be moved to India or Costa Rica or Bulgaria. The sales will still happen without you when they WFR your job and you move on to a successful career selling used cars.

To advance your Sales Career you should switch over to a multi level marketing schema like AMWAY or A.L. Williama, or Mark Kay.

You are an absolute klown to think in this day an age that your skills as a sales person are in demand. The value of the Sales Team is shown the AXE that has chopped off the heads of many people in the HPE Sales Teams.

The product or service and BRAND if valued added are the reason why customers buy products to solve their problems

Given the right product or service even a Monkey can sale and Apple product.

Bragging about getting a free car while others are out of a job because of this company. If only that free car paid for a family’s rent and food for a year.

You must have excellent empathy skills. I bet you go to Africa often and eat a bunch of boxes of pizza in front of the starving children and say, “S—s to be you! You all should be thankful for even living!”

I’m staying because I made a k–ling this year. Instead of being negative...I’m going to ride it out and make as much as I can...while I can. I’m not going to just “quit” because I’m scared. Enough of the negative about “it’s a sinking ship”. When my number is called I’ll find something else...until then I am going to keep making good money. Seriously maybe if everyone wasn’t so negative and worried about gossip..it’s a Corp job. You should be lucky you get to have the experience on your resume. When you accepted your offer, I bet you weren’t negative. When you got a free car and left your last employer to join HPE you weren’t negative....s— it up and focus on finding something new if you were impacted. It’s s—s.. I know. You now have a new job..finding a job!

Why anyone would want to stay in high tech is beyond me. I am in my early 60's and its a matter of when not IF I will be let go. Corporate America at its best... so tired of this.
