Not sure but if a mall goes chapter 11 it gives the the green light for stores to walk on their lease
They’re filing chapter 11, not chapter 7. They’re not closing the malls. They’re restructuring their debt.
Are the mall owners evicting their tenants?
Alot of malls going bankrupt.How does that affect the remaing stores?
These are not in liquidation....closing yes but all equipment sold to one group.
Does anyone have a list of closing auto centers? From those mentioned so far, both stand-alone and store-attached auto centers are among those closing.
Only 37 auto center will remain open (until the round of closing). About 30 auto centers are currently in liquidation even though the stores are are attached to or in the parking lot of are staying open.
Called the auto center in Vineland NJ to schedule my vehicle's next service in mid-November and they said they will be closed by then.
No, not autozone deals....the auto centers are completely seperate from sears....he was invloved in auto zone years ago.....again. sears auto not part of Sears transformco..
Can you say more about the "AutoZone deals" ? Are the closing Sears Auto Centers all reopening as Autozones?

The auto centers are part of the autozone Eddie deals and not part of any store liquidation events. No communication is done with stores. They close and sell the auto center equipment to one company and they remove.

There are also about 60 Sears Auto Centers (most attached to open Sears stores, but some stand-alone or attached to now-closed Sears stores), and about 300 Sears Hometown stores.
No new closings have been announced since July, and the last liquidations ended in September.
People have posted rumors here about upcoming closings of Auto Centers, but I haven't seen anything concrete about this.
