In October 2020, employees were given 24-hour notice that they are being furloughed. Because folks who got laid off are staff who were not represented (by union), many felt that there was unfair selection of folks who got let go...

Everything was done hush-hush hence the 24-hour notice but there were staff laid off from both campuses - Brooklyn and Manhattan. I do not think anyone knows the exact number of people who lost their jobs (aside from sr. mgmt staff) but it is definitely much more than a handful... Pratt has done plenty to positively influence the community, especially within the Clinton Hills neighborhood. I think now more than ever, Pratt needs the community's help. Please support if you can so no other folks lose their jobs.
