Thread regarding Enterprise Rent-A-Car layoffs

Severance and right to sue- get both?

“They also made people sign a multiple page legal document agreeing to waive all rights to sue the company in order to get severance. If you didn't sign one, call a lawyer. Enterprise would almost always rather pay out an individual than risk negative press by going to court. I personally saw it multiple times in my years there. Every single suit was absurd. The RVP or GM would throw thousands of dollars at them to sign a confidentiality agreement and go away forever. I saw it happen with employees and customers.”

I saw this on another thread here, @Jeao+16PaEocT . This is an important issue. Has anyone had experience with this? I personally wasn’t in position to sign the severance but I am interested in how did those who didn’t want to sign that agreement fare.

I want to sue because my area manager, the person responsible for furloughing and firing me, was also the person I had to report to HR for s-xually assaulting a new MT in front of my MT after an official company event. HR did nothing. He remained an area manager and remained my area manager as well as the area manager of the girl he assaulted and my MT who reported it. All of us are now no longer with the company. Three months after he furloughed/fired me, he was fired for physically assaulting a male MT. This company treats women like sh–. I don't care that Chrissy is "in charge." She never had to actually deal with the middle management of grandpa's company and the day to day operations make that obvious. This place is the worst, dirtiest, most disgusting frat you can imagine.
