Meetings are getting cancelled in my department. There was some “stepping down” news yesterday in a different department. Are any layoffs happening this week?

403g's have minimal protection, not much staff ibew 12 12 techs at cbs anymore. when they move into the new studio facility will they hire all new techs ?

No sympathy for any techs in news, 4.03g or senior staff - you all played the game in a corrupt union and you get just what you deserve

Ha, protected by seniority on paper. Company can lay off any senior employee out of order but have to pay that employee a not very big penalty

Older techs aren't getting bought out, they are letting themselves get laid off after the wave of 403gs get laid off first. Older techs are collecting severance + unemployment

the Drew Barrymore show has techs that aren't CBS staff which is baffling because its a CBS show
i heard IBEW 12 12 members with seniority are still being bought out, There isn't much old staff left at CBS anymore.

Ibew 1212 has been throwing 403g's under the bus for over a decade. The grandfather's aren't affected - they are set for life and can leave at any time. 403g were created as Pawns back in '87
Ibew 1212 hasn't gone on strike in decades - COWARDS, they only manage to give up benefits for the younger 4.03g class

Unions USED to be a good idea. Now they protect even the worst workers and discriminate against whoever they feel like. Too much power. Unionize all workers in all jobs for all walks of life or move away from them entirely.

Like other media conglomerates, especially in ny market have been breaking unions By any means necessary. Moving studios/ operation centers to CT and NJ or outsourcing/ moving division to so called right to work states. Been going on for a long time now with all these media mergers. I wish IBEW members the best of luck with shady stuff they are/will pull.
Ibew 1212 has filed 20 grievances against CBS for letting reporters and anchors go live without technicians etc
