Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Is there a correlation between layoffs and poor product and support?

There is a correlation between IKON and Ricoh leader egos, channel conflict between sales teams, and intentionally vague sales compensation plans that they change at their discretion.

Managed Services: We find cheap labor, add some profit and replace your people. Imagine. Change.

Honestly I don’t see what ricoh refers to as IT Services matching up well with a real msp. Maybe small mom and pop stuff but don’t have much confidence in their ability to deliver.

MS, IT, and others. To be honest, the places where Ricoh performs the worst is manufacturing, hence them getting out of it. But since that is tied to techs, then what difference does it make? Their camera department is grabbo too, since their cameras aren't known for much.

Overall Ricoh can make money. But their greed often is the biggest problem. Look at our account as an example. We make 20 to 22% profit. That is Walmart level profit but we always get...Ricoh wants more? Well f— me silly...how much more money do you want?

Then you combine that with all the incentives for things like MS selling services, Techs selling hard drive replacements and what not and you have a complete lack of focus from the higher people.

I for one am super happy I am leaving this sh– job. I feel sorry for all the great people that are left but the leadership here couldn't sell themselves out of a paper box.

Ricoh has performing units? Hard not to sound sarcastic but what units are these? “Performing” relative to toner?

I agree. I think the only reason to split everything up is to get rid of underperforming units. Makes sense from a business sense. You just better hope you’re not in the units that’ll be on the chopping blocks.
I would seriously consider getting out while you can.

Ricoh is scrambling right now. Anyone who is seeing the news from within is notice secret meetings and watching as the company yet again shrinks from it's original vision. They are truly grabbing at straws at this point hoping to find some money making idea that will bring them back from the pits of hell.

I just found something else. Your best bet is to get out while you still have a chance before they force you out with bad decisions and poor future ideas.

Hell their whole dividing the company is just so that they can sell of portions of the company which are not preforming up to Ricoh standards.

Disagree- Poor decisions by management/ops. They keep chasing their tails as to how to market correct.

Pentax. Another savvy ricoh acquisition. Ask any “professional” photographer. Is Pentax as good as Canon? No. Nikon? No. It does however contribute perfectly to ricoh’s brand: 3rd place. Still wondering why your services at ricoh are no longer required?

Failing company. 90’s ideology and outdated practices. Covid exposing critical weaknesses. Won’t survive.
