I wish everyone the very best! I was one of the ones let go in Aug. I secured an offer from Northrop Grumman on Friday. Just to give everyone some hope NG is hiring. I am going to have to relocate to Redondo Beach but if you are willing to be mobile you can secure a new position with Northrop Grumman. I am not posting to brag but to give hope and let everyone know... you will get through this. I did not use GA placement assistance. NG will look highly upon you if you are a veteran.

its taking too damn long to finish the process and their security card bs is just plain lame.
How do you get past their smart card security card requisition in trying to create an acct?
typo:
interviewer - hiring company
(not interviewee -that's you)
Thank you for posting a positive message. I don't work for either of these companies but was recently RIF as an engineer. If you were never laid-off in your life after working 20+ years with the same company, it can be devastating to lose your job. It gets really depressing when you apply to many many jobs, get the interview (even sometimes the second interview), you think you did really well, only to learn after a week or two passing by that the interviewee is never going to call you back. It's a tough market out there, but hang in there. Many have found better paying jobs and there are still many who are looking especially those in there early 60's. But I hope American's who are hiring have a heart to give the 50-60 year old a chance. Sure they are old timers, but they have a lot of knowledge and background the young kids today don't. Also, old timers do put in a lot of time, even weekends without pay and don't complain much cause they know they are lucky and appreciative to get the job. Since the kids are all grown up, they have lots of time to come up to speed and work hard. So please have a heart, and hire those in their 50-60's. You won't regret it.
