Management page on Oxy website updated, reductions of EC staff

Happened to look to see who replace OCC President and saw GV and SL are no longer listed. Have there been some overdue EC staff reductions? Does OCC report into the CFO? Also, what is the JB role makes no sense to me.

Too bad Oxy decided to minimize the ME in their future expansion plans. Maybe GOM will be good going forward.

KD is terrible. Still never figured out what Sandy Lowe actually did.

As for the page being down, it's pretty clear that someone posted the reorg early. It wasn't just that people weren't listed, they also had new titles. Definitely not a case of an inadvertent deletion

KD is such a waste of space in OXY. The new Algeria’s management team is a joke! Whoever couldn’t do anything useful In their previous role got promoted and sent there! Oxy’s way!!

Permian resources also has so many useless mid managers.

Let them go so we can become lean!

Exec mgmt page still down. You’d think if it was an inadvertent omission, they’d figure out how to correct it by now but maybe we are giving them too much credit.

While we’re waiting for the management page answers, had anybody noticed that Al Walker is still in the outlook email directory and on skype?

No confirmation, but the fact that they hid the management page indicates that someone published something they shouldn't have.

Typical Oxy incompetence.

Nobody knows - they may just be on double secret probation.

So it’s already past Tuesday. Is there any confirmation on a management reorg or was that just a rumor?

There will be the day when uncle Icahn realizes all of this nepotism? Not sure if moves the needle for him. He seems lately rather softer compared to the wild 80s.

@1mee I wouldn’t worry about GV Jr. I am sure he will survive just fine on the management ladder even without GV in the company. Relationship will always be ,ore important than technical compentency, skills, and talent, contributions.
From where I am, Sevin Jr. does just fine without daddy in the company. Zero technical competency.
It is really discouraging to work under people like this.

@1mli+17ucOQnJ Fortunate in the way that najib razak was "fortunate" that 1MDB money happened to end up in his account.

If reduce management layers, where the middle level managers will go?
They will take over the individual contributors’ job. Time will tell. But they are safer than the rest of us

Everyone has to retire at some point. They are fortunate they have such lucrative severance packages.

If Robert Palmer is gone — one of the brighteat, honest, best executives in Oxy — then Oxy’s future is much more iffy.

Perhaps the decision (stupid IMHO) to sell onshore Colombia was the last straw for RP?

It’s been a while since technical talent has mattered in Oxy. Brown-nosing, politics and nepotism is what gets you ahead at Oxy.

@1lvf+17ucOQnJ he believes it because no one has ever told him otherwise. Without daddy dearest, it will be interesting to see how he survives.

But yes, clown of an engineer and a straight up bonafide twat.

They’re all still there, earning big, fat checks. Just because they’re not listed, doesn’t mean they’ve left the company or have any plans to, just means a shift in structure.

Junior is a straight up clown shoe of an engineer!

For some reason he believes nepotism will some how make all of his kafkaesque downhole analysis work out.

I agree, No one is commenting on their value or wether they deserve the multi-millions they received in compensation, that is history. The question was are they retiring execs on 31 and who.
