Golden Corral of publishers! rofl. That's the best thing I've seen on here.
My first job was in a pizza place and I watched the owner pick up a breadstick off the floor and send it out to the dining room. We're doing the same thing.

Ohhhh. I know that VP. He’s not smart or creative enough to be Soup Guy. He does know how to OD on the Kool-Aid tho, so there’s that.

I doubt Soup Guy would make it to VP. Not resilient enough.

There’s a VP in the east who prides himself on playing some 70s smooth operator soul character at every regional NES meeting. He gets up on stage with the false swagger of a really bad 1970s jazz player and makes s-xual innuendo jokes with double entendres dripping off his tongue. Not only is it racially insensitive but it’s s-xually aggressive (“he talked about ‘Mind-Tapping that’ once).

I’ll bet he’s Soup Guy.

Former employee. Didn't get laid off and left on my own. I think I'm more bemused than anything that the carnival is still rolling with the chief carnival barking running the show. And its beyond hilarious that whenever I talk to former colleagues I consider friends I still get an endless stream of Netflix for Texbooks! Disrupting the industry! Blah blah blah....they always change the subject when I ask if the company's financials have improved. I've never seen such a poorly performing company that is able to string so many people along for so long.

in b4 soup stirrers. I think it's more of a laughing at you rather than with you scenario. These aren't bitter people, these are people who are shocked how this insignificant organization with such weak vapid leadership from the ceo down to the dm's is able to hoodwink so many gullible kool aid drinkers. It's a cult, and when you're in the middle of it, the ambassadors can tell immediately who isn't imbibing the sauce and those people who refuse the kool aid were suspect even though they were highly capable, this organization hates independent thinkers and this is why they deserve this slow painful death. Wake up Jonestown.

So much bitterness from some of the posters here. If they actually thought working at Cengage was so bad, why are they so bitter about being let go?

In before soup guy. If you're still at Cengage you're the lowest of the low, too lazy to find anything better and too incompetent to do anything else. Enjoy your oh so tedious inclusive access setup and other mindless nonsense... You're the Golden Corral of publishers, all you can eat trash served up every day old and moldy under the heat lamps; Referencing the last NES many of you ladies need to back away from the buffet line.

Cengage Unlimited is transforming lives. Our “competition”, if you can even call it that, is still getting their head around this groundbreaking paradigm shift of the educational technology industry.

If you’re one of the best and brightest you’ll be along for the ride.

Well, Pearson reported North American Courseware Sales were down 14%. I would expect our numbers to be the same, if not worse. The only thing saving Pearson now is that they own virtual schools. We do not.

Q2 last year, our revenue was $410 million. Subtract 15% from that and that puts us at $348 million. Combine that with the fact that our Q1 was down $44m and we are down $106MM YTD.

Our 3Q last year was $308 million. Take another 15% loss and that gives you $261mm.

So over 3 qtrs, expect our loss will be roughly $153 million.

@wre+17rbKEiR. Sure! Things are fine!
