Thread regarding Bass Pro Shops layoffs

It’s so sad to watch the decline

It’s very unfortunate it has come to what it has. Losing knowledge with people leaving. Hiring kids who have no idea what they are doing. Everything and mean everything is about Club Card. Stock has been an issue for over twenty years for my store. There is no leadership what so ever. The morale of our store is at all time lows. Management is completely in left field. Everyone is doing multiple jobs. Communication is horrible. It’s so sad to watch the decline

HUH, glad I am not the only one who has noticed the decline. I have made several nice friendships over the years, mainly with regular customers to my department. I have seen the decline, from what it was when I came on board, through its Walmart stage and now well below that. Well spoken about Club, and it annoys me to no end how employees get brow beaten to no end to hustle those darn cards. Does base camp really know or do they really not care? One store had its assistant store manager get terminated; the store manager then hired his brother-in-law as his new assistant manager. That assistant would troll Facebook for employee accounts, read what was posted about the store and pass that along to the store manager. Several employees got called into the store manager's off about what they had posted. How corporate allowed that hire is way beyond my comprehension. That store manager got transferred to another Bass Pro store and is still there. The brother-in-law got let go during another of the middle management cuts a few years back. It's all like the "good ole boys club"

I think this company lost direction a long time ago.
