Heard about that Ruckus will be separated as a BU again. The integration into Commscope was a big management failure. Best would be to bring Ruckus again as separate company to the market. Implement a professional management. Buy security and SDWAN. This is the way to survive in this extremely changing market. Who cares about the cable business and further Arris business which brings no money? Only with that approach Ruckus can prevent that good people will leave the company. Commscope has nothing in their portfolio to meet the current requirements to survive Covid 19. With WiFi their will be a chance and it must be cleverly marketed. The company needs a second Dan Rabinovitsj to get out of sh– water. I left the company some months ago and and I perceive Ruckus as an absolute niche player by now. Ruckus drowns in the swamp of Commscope who has not understood that the market is not as it was 20 years ago. Blatant management mistakes have been made. Commscope should be smashed asap.

"Did Ruckus shutdown the Cloud team in Israel?"
Yes, shut down unfortunately.
The original name was Video54 (after a night club called Studio 54). But the Board of Directors wanted a NEW name. Selina Lo (was the CEO at the time) and she chose the name Ruckus, for obvious reasons. It was like rubbing it in the faces of the incumbent wireless companies.
Doing business with the new name of Ruckus probably fit well for a while. Ruckus did manage to get some Hotel chains to get excited. There was a lot of marketing hype around beamforming at the time. The beamforming technology probably helped Ruckus make all those big wins in the early days, especially in hospitality (Hotel chains). At that time, other 802.11 vendors did not do well with beamforming. It was basically every vendor for themselves.
And other vendors were still going through a lot of growth pains with what they called "diversity antennas". But they eventually caught up to Ruckus. And it is probably safe to say that they eventually outpaced the old dog.
By the way, the Ruckus dog (image) was missing a tail and half his butt, but otherwise it was a good looking dog on the front half.
Did Ruckus shutdown the Cloud team in Israel?
1 Some ex-Cisco Engineers got together to work on another network appliance to control wifi repeaters. We take our picture in front of the building.
2 Eventually Ruckus Sales team made a few bucks with what they created and called it the Ruckus SmartZone (SZ). We get two buildings and take another picture. "We're Raising a Ruckus..."
3 Later Ruckus Managers thought it would be a good idea to replace the Ruckus SZ with some cloud manager software. Cisco responded by acquiring Meraki. Still, we're raising a Ruckus...
4 Then Commscope acquired Ruckus.. then Covid hit and the wifi repeater economy probably fell out. I don't know who is buying wifi repeaters. Especially if you cannot go inside of a building and do a site survey.
