Any word on who, if anyone, is taking over?

That certainly validates there is no need for two directors and a VP to bring back pens. Reduce the VP head and one director and save some salespeople that you then won’t have to layoff with your next RIF.
There’s not much that can be done. Heavy BE sales usually came from offices and schools (k12 to Uni), but the demand has cratered since everyone went to work from home. Now, consumers are just going to buy wherever they usually have. Dotcom is a pain to navigate and once you sign up for an account, you’re crushed by marketing emails. At the end of the day, you are just gonna buy your G2 pens wherever it’s easiest, and that’s likely not staples.
Not sure what either of them do. Can’t answer that question. Save the money and don’t hire a VP. Last one did nothing to drive that line of business. Not sure anyone could name any of them they are so disengaged and if they are doing something had nothing to do with driving BE sales.
There are two directors? Why?
Her mindless minions more like it. Gruhl was not a good addition to the leadership team. Downgrade from leadership in the past. Painful to be in the same space or in meetings with that type of person. Definitely not the smartest person in the room. Listening is a skill that can still be developed if one cares to grow.
Classic! This is why the Staples story is so tragic. Whoever posted the Seinfeld analogy is a genius. And they were either dumped by SD and his mindless minions like RQD or they still work at Staples and have to operate like Oscar Schindler. What a fing waste of talent. Good job SD.
Staples reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine keeps promoting Eddie Sherman.
Eddie Sherman : It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.
RQD?....
Who is BB?
It must be nice to be in that inner circle. I can't even get a courtesy transfer within the same division to a different city. Hiring manager went outside the company and hired someone with no Staples experience and no experience in the field. Oh, but he did have one thing going for him, he was friends with the hiring manager. And the company wonders why they have a hard time keeping good people and moving forward with who they have.
Politics at work- this would come as no surprise. Another bully at the top makes perfect sense.
There are already two directors under that group which is a complete waste of salary and haven’t seen anything from either. Must be their work life balance. The last VP- don’t even remember who that was, did nothing while in role to drive that business. Wouldn’t be surprised though, BB is in the “club.” And would fit in great with the exclusive circle.
BB has been campaigning for it
