I decided to leave a few months ago and started sending out my resumes for various positions in different companies. And yes, I managed to land a few interviews but I am yet to see an offer from any of them. There are so many people applying for those same jobs that the competition has never been worse. I guess I'm stuck here now with added anxiety of an even greater fear of layoffs.

Sounds like he made up his mind to leave but is still there hence the "I'm stuck here now" comment.
Why did you leave before having a job to go to? "Decided" implies it was your decision?
