Bi-weekly 1:1, monthly department calls. Lots of weekly team meetings. Everyone was in different locations to begin with, so things haven’t changed much.
I sometimes wonder if all this gaslighting by management, making you think you are not doing your job when in fact they're not ding theirs is a way of driving people out
"It's your responsibility to set up a 1:1 with your manager, just as it's your responsibility to define annual goals and then discuss them with your manager to ensure you're on track. As for team meetings, you could easily suggest the need for one with your manager."
This right here is what is wrong with CS. Sounds like a Mingle Jingle to me. It's my manager's responsibility to MANAGE and that should include checking in with his/her subordinates routinely, whether 1:1 or as a group (e.g. weekly/biweekly staff call on Teams or WebEx). If I HAVE to suggest to my manager that he meets with his subs via team meeting, then maybe I should be the manager. As for annual goal setting, that could be better accomplished if my manager would communicate either the company's overall goals or our department's goals, so that I can align mine with those inniatives, so that we can ALL win. Otherwise, my goals are not aligned, and are only personal to me, which, at this point, the goal is to get a new job, where my work and experience are valued and input appreciated, and where there is room for meaningful advancement of my career for the long-term, not just more work dumped on because you later off and WON'T backfill.
I have to constantly chase down my manager. He's a terrible manager.
"Not even sure if my boss is still here not heard from him in months. Not had any sort of team or department meeting for even longer."
