All Jenks Shop employee's are getting a steak feed tomorrow for being injury free in September. An amazing accomplishment, considering we all came back on September 28 and the month only has 30 days in it.

Big Announcement! Listen up hens. I like to spread rumors because it makes me feel important because I don’t have any real facts. Jenks is closing for good right after it reopened or did it open, is it really closed or maybe they are just faking you out by calling some people back and then PSYCHE! They close it down for good...or do they but if they do you can bet Mr. G and Mr. S will be fired that day too because Mr. G and Mr.S have it coming, because you have been saying it for over 2 years now....so it must be true. I heard they are going to flippitty floppitty the whole business model. Kind of like that Jaime Lee Curtis movie where she trades bodies with her daughter. So they are going to let all these awesome armchair quarterback on here run the railroad for realsies and let the guys with all the diploma mill degrees work in the hourly jobs. Sound fair? Let’s see how it goes boys. Are you up for that task?

Hey Fake Jink Old Head, OG Jinx Old Head here. First off, it's really sad that you steal someone's be and use it but, what eves. Anyway, Jenks is actually running pretty smooth, all things considered. Oh yea, that's right, I'm bid in at Jenks, and you're not. Buahahahahaha!!!!

Have fun down at the Dump with the PUPpet Master. And guess what, you say he never says thank you?

He bought us all Shotgun Dan's our last week's there, then fed us more pizza the last day.

Sounds just like mark shaw at the ramp with his little rule book hides behind every corner to catch you doing something wrong, the man never says thankyou or says your doing a good job never a word of encouragement from the mans mouth. I personally can't wait for the day he is replaced. We all know the ramp goes through directors. His time is near

North platte only signing off 8-12hrs a day, that's it? I worked at Jenks and was signing off 36-72hrs of work every day, but I was like most of the fools there. We believed the lies we were told, that if we busted our a$$ and show that we were more productive than the other shops we would be saved. Blah blah blah BS is exactly what that was. Showing how productive it could be only gave them more reasons to cut. Then bam Rona get rid of all of them "temporarily" for a month, wait another month, no I'm sorry 3 months, wait wait another month oh Let's call back about 25% and go from there. Hopefully they call all of us back, but I think what they will find out is when they need us back, alot won't go back, I know several that have found other jobs making more money, better hrs, and the employers actually understand they have families and sometimes have other sh*t to take care of, and this will blow your mind. They will actually accept a doctor's note, and the managers don't spend all day trying to sneak around, hide behind columns peaking trying to catch you doing something their little book says you're doing wrong, because we all know none of the managers at UP dont have a clue on what it takes to do the job, just a little rule book on how they can try to write you up so they can justify their job.

Someone is always trying to stir the pot. Just do your job and go home . Be thankful you are working, lot's of folks not working right now and the job market is tough. Hopefully they will open up more of jenks and call more guys back, I know they would appreciate that and enjoy getting back to work.

Jenks isn’t closing. Just one more miserable hourly person trying to stir the pot because they came up wrong when it opened back up. All you said since its temp closure was how it was closed for good. Wrong again. We have been hearing for years now how Mr G and Mr S are on their way out, yet Mr G was just AGAIN given even more responsibility which is constantly contradictory to everything you say on here. Miserable people try to drag everyone they can around them down with them. Maybe grow a set and instead of speculating or passing off information you know zero about, go straight to the source and ask them yourself. Oh right, no one has the cajones to ever do that it is more fun to speculate on here like teenage girls behind each others back.

The time in ILP is a joke, if the task you are doing doesn't have a standard work, which most don't, how do they come up with the TAK time? Example, R/R a conductor side aftercooler on an ACE, no standard work, it requires two mechanist's. TAK time 3 hrs. But wait, there is two of you, 1.5 hrs. each is what you get credit for. I'd beg to see anyone do it, and that includes doing a squeeze before you pull it out of the house. There is a lot of tasks like this. TAK time is short to keep mangers pushing and harassing employees. This is how management disqualified the machinist techs, they didn't have troubleshooting tasks in ILP to sign for, so it looked like the techs were grooving off. This was all in the plan, it was brought to managements attention in person and through SC countless times. The electricians techs were and are able to sign off troubleshooting tasks. I was a tech, a foreman general, and trained in Standard Work. When writing Standard Work, you have a known partner, all the parts and tools that are needed. The kicker is that you perform the task three times, writing it on the third. All bolts are broken loose, anything that you missed is noted; no surprises. The Service Track is an area where you can beat TAK time routinely. I left UP at the beginning of the year. I'll admit that I miss working on locomotives and some of the guys, however, I certainly don't miss the company. At one time UP was a good company to work for, the Jim Young days were the best. If and when you decide to leave, the first thing you'll notice is how good you feel. After a little soul searching and a new career you won't believe that you allowed yourself to be so disrespected. Everyone I know that left UP has a better job, and I mean everyone. Most company's value their employees; the truth is, the grass is greener on the other side. Good Luck

If they’d go back to MCS and get rid of ILP most of these productivity issues would be solved immediately, but hey those with the fancy degrees and no actual railroad experience know more then those of us actually doing the work. Giving someone 8 hours credit when they clock in, and then charging everything else they sign off while there on top of that original 8 makes no sense. Plus using metrics on just how long it takes to do a job when damn near anything can influence how long it takes to do that job goes to show just how out of touch they are.

Boy it sure seems like people are just spreading inaccurate information from everywhere, just wait and see what happens next. The plans change day to day if not hour but hour at this company. They (the glass palace) can’t get everyone on the same page and everyone knows it. They’ve been trying for YEARS to farm out the work jenks does to contractors, and each time they find out they’ll spend more money with contractors and it’ll take longer to get the equipment back. No other location in this company does the work that jenks does not even the infamous North Platte, it’s one of a few facilities left able to do complete tear downs and rebuilds. But by all means let’s keep arguing and calling each other names and not focus on the real problems.

Sounds like alot are about to get their walking paper's. Jenks is rumored to shut down forever. From what was said the company was giving it a second chance since they are buying traction motors from vendors for 5k but rebuilding them at jenks only cost 1500 but the work isn't getting done. This mentality of only signing off 2-5 hours of work is what is becoming the end of the shop, before ILP people just came to work and worked did more work than ever before then. Hell the ramp would change out 3 plus traction motors a shift now they lucky to get one because the book time says it takes x amount of time so the guys are literally just milking it now. Now that ILP is here these guys think they can just sign off a few hours of work and say they are done. A water test pays 3 hours but knowbody takes 3 hours so you do a water test change some filters then you think your done because you signed off 6 hours of work that's b.s just get it done so yes theres about to be alot of walking papers. North Platte signs off 15 to 25 hours a day a person and the company isn't saying a word but you phukers are complaining about 2-6 hours so go ahead keep doing what you are doing. Jinx Old Head gonna keep phuking em. I can retire anyway but choose not to so phuk off I'll work how I want too.

ILP is a broken system but apparently you would rather cook the books which shows that you are actually the dumb phuck. Working 2-4 hours and taking credit for 12 hours is exactly why this company will end up in trouble if someone who actually knows what they are doing takes over. Signing off work you don’t do will also eventually come back to bite you in the @$$ if that locomotive is involved in an accident or derailment. But hey you continue to try to save the railroad Fonzi work yourself to death the company will give you absolutely nothing for busting your @$$. Oh and just a heads up Fonzi not everyone that’s still there is an old phuck. Keep listening to that management staff that’s going to sail your @$$ up the river when $hit finally hits the fan and hand you your walking papers when they say you messed up.

Why stop at 12 hours, you can probably get 16 or 20 hours signed in an 8 hour shift.

No you don't get it dumb phuk!!!!!! Signing off 2-4 will get a shop shut down real fast. That's not productive at all. Signing off 10-12 hours is very doable but you old phukers can't see past your own noses.

Signing off 12 hours of work when you only did 2-4 yea that makes a lot of sense keep that up and you won’t get anyone that’s been laid off back to work

Management says otherwise you old phukers. Lazy mother phukers. You old phukers couldn't make units at the ramp now that we back we making units running circles around you. Phukers don't even sign off 8 hours work we signimg off 12 plus hours now

Just came to see if North Platte was saying they were the best on the system....and yep there they are spouting off about how they are needed to replace jenks and how they are safe. Everyone knows except apparently North Platte that they aren’t safe until the PSR program disappears and current leadership is replaced.

Who are these Old Phuckers you speak of? I'm bid in at Jenks and the average age is 45-50. We are all working, all day, no breaks accept for a 20 minute lunch at 11am, then it's back at it for the rest of the day. Jealously is not a form of flattery son.

Why don't you instead get you some knowledge and a life, and maybe even another job if you're so unhappy. I have 25 years here AND I have the Wheel Shop agreement. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon Chachi.
