The date was announced. If you survive October 26th without an HR call, then you will have survived this round. Until April 2021 (I suspect)

"They fired engineers last year and then hired people later saying no resources .. and they are firing now .. all of this in the same teams .. .. is this how requirements change in 1 yr from firing to hiring to firing at so called large companies?"

No, not at all large companies, only mismanaged ones like Teradata. The cycle goes something like this: Oops, revenue is dropping so to maintain margin, layoffs ensue. Then new revenue generating opportunities arise that require the laid-off resources, hence hiring ensues. Then revenue drops once again, so to minimize the margin hit, more layoffs. Its a vicious cycle caused by inept management.

So is it all engineers fault for the company's state? No manager has done anything wrong ?

Yes, annual layoffs are common, amongst shaty companies. Good companies make decisions that avoid layoffs, great companies never let a good employee leave without a fight. TDC is neither. Don't buy the bamboozle.

Don’t normalize it. It is not that common. The only other company that comes to my mind that does annual or bi-annual RIFs is Qualcomm.

With the “end of October” guidance I would think the last week. For some reason I don’t know layoffs seem to usually be towards the end of the week, so I’m thinking October 29th.

When is the actual lay off day. Any ideas? Lot of rumors here which did not come true. Don’t think they will wait longer with all this unrest.

Why will anyone refer a friend or any good candidate when this stupidity continues every year? With so much money with our competetor they will start beating the sh– out of TD soon. How are they going to take it by letting people go?
