Palestine vs Desoto

Big decision happening tomorrow. One of them will probably close, the other will survive. Who’s it going to be?

Several years ago up bought a large facility just a few miles north of Palestine, it needs completely rebuilt because it was an old Alcoa aluminum smelter. That place is large enough to close both and build a new updated facility.

You’ve got a peace symbol on your vest and born to k-1LL on you’r helmet, that some kind of sick joke? You best get your head and @ss wired together son or you’ll be standing in front of the man and he will take a giant $hit on you! Why don’t you join the team and come in for the big win?

Calling people back? Are you referring to the 16 carman that’s been there for the last 3 months because 0 were called back in September and 0 were called back in October.

Trick question. They want to close both.

Use to work there at Palestine. They just can't close it at whim. Heard through a secondary source [retired friend whose buddy is on the city counsel] that UP offered $ to buy out the contract...turned down. Court date is scheduled for Feb 2021.

Previous poster correct. Desoto is much more advanced in car repair than PalTx. It would seem Palestine would make sense because of that, in top of, them being more centrally located.

They’ll get out of that agreement! Whether they close it or not they’ll get out of it

They can't close Palestine without ensuring they have met the requirements or been released from the Palestine Agreement. I haven't heard that they have resolved their lawsuit with the City of Palestine yet. If they can't get out of the Palestine Agreement - I'm sure that would close DeSoto. If they can then Palestine. But with PSR it may be both.

Well it would take a lot of money to invest into Palestine to reach what Desoto is already capable of doing. But they doing crazy things all the time so maybe they will shut desoto down nothing is surprising anymore!
