Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

I'm sorry for the workers, but not for the company

Teradata has wasted opportunities, allowed incompetent management to remain for years, punished good workers who don't "blend in", and continued to hire incompetents in the ELT and Board. So, I guess they are reaping the "rewards" of years of mismanagement.

And while I'm sorry for the turmoil the workers are going through, they have had ample warning and many have simply been content to take the paycheck. Now the reckoning is coming. Listen to your gut and GET OUT while you can. That puny severance will be gone before you know it.

The "Think Big" experiment was disasterous for Teradata, not for VL and his son-in-law who co-owned Think Big and cleaned-up big time from the acquisition.

I agree with the sentiment completely. We have had some of the worst CEO and leadership for a technology company. The board was spineless for years and didn't make the changes required to survive. Now it is pay up time and hardworking engineers are going to suffer. The "Think Big" experiment with VL was disastrous. VR was the next worst CEO who took it one step further. Right now we don't have enough experienced folks to save this company so I agree with the " GET OUT" comment. TD may not have enough sales to keep large number of employees any longer. My suggestion is to start from the top and get rid of management folks before firing engineers.
