Oxy hasn’t really been good at D&I. It will be a change that many need to learn, especially those on the management team.
D&I is such a bunch of c-ap. If I have 10 top candidates and they are all from the same category why not choose them for 10 openings. It is all about skill level and value generation when it comes to corporate work. Let the universities worry about the D&I. That is where it belongs.

It is all just fancy names for how Corp America is changing. They are getting us ready for the new administration come 2021. More diversity and inclusion in the ratings and rankings of employees and what you bring to the table in experience will not matter. You think the mid level management is bad now just wait until the D&I is factored in. You might end up being surprised at who your boss ends up being. No more expressing your opinion without making it sound nice and fluffy. The next four years will transition work and life like you have never seen. Be kind and nice to everyone will be the key to you meet as that will define you more than any work you can do.
I just learned that BARS means Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale. Is this a throwback to earlier times where stuff was made up on the performance review to fit the behavior categories. Really, who cares about the soft stuff anymore. It should be more about what you do to add value than anything. How will they rate people’s behaviors while under WFH?
