Sorta new to Shell. Will the people being laid off given some type of money to keep them afloat for a little bit. If so what does that usually look like? Or was the SVS the last time for that. Just wondering. Thanks!

Agree. No secure job... unless you are in a SBO location
From now till end of 2022. No matter what department or job you are in if your job can be done from India, Poland or Philippines it will be moved there. If your highly specialized where job cannot be done in those places then likely be from Houston, UK, Netherlands or N—ria. There will be no "secure" job.
You get PIP if your performance rating IPF drops well below 1. After the PIP period they can let you go with a valid reason, so no severance.
In canada you normally get a severance package and a month to look for job in MOR. The package is based on number of years of service. After this you can apply for EI which i think lasts more than a year.. So basically you are fine for 16 months after layoff.
Pip- Performance improvement plan
I’d take SVS, but it hasn’t been announced in my location yet :(
What is PIP? Thanks
I’d take the SVS. They’ve been giving out PIPs like candy so that they could legally lay people off without severance
Will there be a SVS 2021
We wil know impacted positions and teams the end of the year. Expect all locations to have some impact.
Does anyone know when we will find out whether our location/ job will be impacted?
Generally voluntary and involuntary severance packages are the same.
