Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Teradata doesn't realize what it's losing

I wasnt a manager, but a hell of a designer/architect/delivery guy. Did almost all the tech presales single-handedly, brought in projects and enhancements for various customers, problem was THEY thought i got paid too much (~$150k), had me train half a dozen freshies - college grads with less than 18 months experience.
This was back in late 2018 and literally 4-5 months later got THE phone call.
I kept my head down, went to a competitor and now we're ripping Teradata tech out of each and every customer who I've worked at before and know the innards of ...

Never underestimate the value of commitment, loyalty and knowledge that employees bring to the company. The world is a very big and accommodating place. And last but not the least - knowledge is power and those who dont value it will find themselves at a loss.

An excellent post from @1don+17c8lxAn, needed to be on top.

Teradata is full of managers and directors who don't deserve to be in their positions. The management has failed to fire these guys. Over the years these guys have kept their positions while getting rid of technical folks who sold and delivered deals. It is sad that CEO, Presidents and CIO have bought ZERO value in the past five years to Teradata and have played musical chairs. I wish the board would develop spine and get rid of the entire top so that someone from outside can come and run this company. The end is near.. I give another two quarters for Teradata.

Don’t forget these decisions are made (for the most part), by people who have no customer presence, have never had any positive customer impact, but will cling to their TD financial tether with all the strength in their being
