Unions are stupid and greedy and k–led the golden goose.
People shouldn't be surprised by the announcement to consolidate that line to South Carolina.
The unions have proved again just how utterly useless they are.
F them.
What's even more comical is the amount of brainwashed pro union people here in the Puget Sound area were saying this won't happen because all the skilled workers are in the Sound area.
Excuse me? Have you seen the amount of rework f ups that occur every week?
I laugh my a– off listening to all those sheep. I knew they were going to move that line.
If Boeing is smart they'll relocate the entire Boeing company out of Washington state and to a state with sensible taxes and government.
F this place. What a disaster it is.
Defund the union
Known this for years why are you people shocked?
Where is that guy who keeps saying "this site is 0 for 1000" in terms of rumors that are true? TAKE THAT!!! Even a broken clock is correct 2 times per day.
Any way we can get a refund of our union dues since all our jobs are headed to South Carolina ?

this stings but its nothing that hasn't happened to other great aviation hubs in the past, wichita, S. Cali. it PNW turn to take a hit sadly.
Question - SC is non-union shop, if I transfer from Everett to SC, do I lose all of my union privileges?
Congrats again to the IAM for winning the battle in the last contract negotiation but losing the war as the 787 bids Farewell to the PNW
The union once again overvalued their importance to the company, overplayed their hand, and underestimated Boeing's willingness to move work out of WA state. Don't you pay your union leadership to understand the temperature in the room?
And now WA state is "looking at" tax breaks. The same tax breaks that Airbus uses against us with the WTO. The same tax breaks that MOST liberals look at as corporate welfare and say if a company can't succeed without government help, it should go under. But it seems that only applies when the impact is a positive one for liberals. Can you smell the stench of hypocrisy? You can't have it both ways.
But don't worry about your union leadership. Dues will most certainly go up to makenup for the lost revenue from those who leave the company. They will convince the increase is for fighting the good fight to not let anything else leave puget sound, but its really for luxurious union retreats that the rank and file don't go on.
Next time you see a union rep, thank them in person for fighting so hard for the wage and benefit increases that made you unaffordable.
What is the timeline, and impact on employees
