There are currently 57 Sears Hometown stores for sale. It's sad to think that the owners can't sell their stores for fear of a liability down the road. Who wants to sell a store that is no longer viable. It's unethical for Corp. to sell these store when they know owners can't make it. Sears is setting up new owners for failure and they know it. Too many owners have walked away from this business, that should say something about the business model. Shame on Sears and Eddie for setting these owners up for financial s–c-de.

Looks like these store are still open. Sears hires people, puts them in place and they have no skin in the game. They don’t care like the owners did. Hourly people get the keys to a store full of inventory and no supervision. Sounds like are recipe for disaster.
Are these stores currently open, or are they dark locations that Sears wants someone else to reopen?
Anyone buying one of these is crazy.
