Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Name one good thing

I can’t think of one good thing about this company that would cause a sane person to stay. Most of upper management that I have been unfortunate to work with will seldom give any type of support. The environment is toxic with a few employees having a ‘not in my job description’ attitude which causes a major lack in accountability. With all the useless meetings and conference calls we STILL have a problem with communication and transparency across the board. We have people who were forced into early retirement and others left because they couldn’t stand what the company has become - but hey, it’s just another day at the office right?

You get to buy ENB stock at lower and lower prices. Focus on the dividend, guaranteed until the last employee is booted out door.

ELT doesn’t have a strategic reason for creating a toxic workforce. They just don’t know any better. Toxicity is the result of their upbringing, training, experience, world view, and the advice they get from their consultants. The cycle continues.

Taking a pay cut to do more work has to be the best thing.

Does ELT have a strategic reason for wanting to foster a toxic work environment? Do they, for example, want more employees to volunteer to leave?

So I see the last poster is an inspired Power Point watcher. They must also be a big Trailer Park Boys fan of Mr. Layhe with all that Sh** Talk. Your just a roaring "Sh-nado", or would you be akin to a "Shname". Never drink and post bud!

It’s a free world. Instead of complaining and feeling sorry for yourself, leave and try to thrive else where. The more miserable people that leave, the ratio of people who enjoy their jobs will make the work environment better. Ever think the workplace s—s because you are making it s—?

To the original poster - just leave. I did under VWO and as I read your post, I felt myself cringing because it’s 100% accurate. And you put it nicely. I feel so much better being out of that environment.

Wow the company communication rep. Is really working overtime, "Man Up" = Wouldn't that be considered a s-xist rant.

FYI On merging / acquiring Spectra, this is an old game Spectra and it's predecessors have played for decades. I can think of three time the Company was "mergered" the Spectra-side 's stock price went up, we cash in, wait to be spun off AGAIN and start the game/cycle over. Thanks for buying us.

From Old-Spectra you did acquire our best Power Point watchers. The rest of us got early retirement or just left. Good Luck

Enbridge has its faults, many faults too many to list. But this post challenged us to name ONE good thing about the company and that is easy to do. This thing is not just good, it is great and the sole bright spot. It is single handedly carrying the company on its back while churning out incredible ideas, executing them flawlessly and leading the company through these difficult times. Infrastructure Planning...the crown is yours and yours alone.

Well, I manned up, too. I left Enbridge on my own and now am happily enjoying my time. I could have stayed and collected a regular paycheck to fatten my retirement fund but it was no longer worth it for me for the reasons the original poster said. Many I know have also left on their own for the same reason. The execs have screwed big-time starting with the Spectra acquisition ( or was it a merger ? ) and it all went downhill from there. Just look at the share price. So what is your story for the one who rebuked the original poster ? Are you one of them or are you aiming to be one of them ?

To the one who says man up, let’s do it. I didn’t post that reply but I will say I was there and I left the Company solely for what the person who originally posted. I was management, I put my money where it is. I’ll be waiting for your reply and Hellmaybe we can man up.

It’s about time management’s terrible leadership and poor decisions catch up with them via a tanking share price. Please (PLEASE!) do another round of VWO, and do not limit who it applies to.

Look in the mirror and read what you’ve just said about yourself. If you were true to yourself and confident in your abilities you’d leave as there are plenty of people lined up with attitudes that will taken them further than you could even imagine. Go find a company you can thrive in but don’t be a coward and throw cheap shots. Man up and take accountability for your future.
