Give me strength! The company is up to its neck in financial quicksand and this is all they have to think about. I won't be raising the bar, I will be going to the Bar to help me stop thinking about this madness. The whole of HR need to be gone as they are nothing but a waste of money.

Rumor I heard is anything over 180 will be banked and only 180 rolled over to next year
OXY chose to pay the May 2020 VSP group who left the company 70% of the current salary for PTO on the way out the door. Very classy move by 31st floor. The question was asked for months prior to with no response. Bend over on your way out and take another.
Agreed with below. I have personally raised the bar by getting rid of my most talented people (mostly LAPC folks) so that I can seem effective at cost cutting because their salaries were higher than mine and they knew how to do my job more efficiently and effectively. So they had to go. Now I want their salary.
When I called them to help fix a problem recently, they laughed while sipping margaritas at their lake house. I guess they aren't working because of covid. That'll teach them to be better than me.
I have been raising the BAR for a good while now and have yet to be recognized and promoted for this. I have been a leader in my group and working at two pay grades above my current pay grade. Why has HR not fixed this yet?
The answer is 200.

Should WFH people even get the same PTO as others? Maybe it would give the workforce an incentive to get back to the office.
From a business POV, if you don’t use the PTO, you don’t need the PTO. Just sayin, hedge your bets.
Say good bye to your PTO if you don't start using it. They don't mind a late roll out as it won't help them any if you use it and also work from home. Just get it out of the way and reduce it down. There will likely be no cash out as that is an expensive option that Oxy can't afford right now.
Benefits aren't going to change in any favorable way as an employee as the company chooses to pay for even less and pass the burden onto you. It is the same with every election year as companies find better ways to circumnavigate the system. The next candidate will say they can finally fix it.
I agree on PTO completely. I need to know And like now. It’s causing anxiety. If it’s not going to roll I need to take 25 plus days off out of the remaining 50 or so work days remaining this year. It’s unbelievable that it’s almost October and there is no guidance. I’ve asked multiple times only to be told the policy hasn’t been published yet.
They’re probably holding this to tell us so that when the new benefits package rolls out they have something positive to say. They need something to balance the likely bad news of higher insurance costs, reduced gym perks and others. Any one heard anything?
This company...such poor messaging.
Wonder if they are going to use it for the late October performance review or it is up to next year to roll out. I hope our local manager explains us the details.
The logo is wonderful-|-🏿
Will VH be rated by the same system?
I agree in the PTO. I just need to know if we are going to carryover the stated 120 hrs per the new program, or will carryover be more since we are still in Covid issues. I think it was great they allowed us to push out the April reset of hours, but I need to know something soon. For me there is no reason to take a vacation with all the shutdowns, but if I need to burn some hours so be it. I just need to know how many to use before a reset to 120.
How can people be evaluated if little work is getting done under WFH? Maybe a free pass for slackers this year at all levels.
He's acting like he's shocked.
Its Oxy, man. Its Oxy.
Hey HR, instead of this value-less dribble please make a decision on PTO hours, especially banking and carrying over. Only 3 months until 2020 is over.
HR dont think they just do so yes lets dump them and just get robots to do the bidding of VH
When are the next round of layoffs?
I see and/or read these communications from VH and get demoralized. Is VH and the EB going to be graded on same values, namely outperform expectations and deliver results responsibly? And how is a front line manager supposed to evaluate employees based on touchy-feely cultural traits? Is attitude especially eating s*** and smiling the goal?
