One of the best companies and the managers that I have worked for (after working in major oil sands companies and international engineering companies). I belong to a minority group and up until that day, I have never faced any adversities in Canada. I couldn't believe when HR handed me the severance package. I was smiling when I received the package because I was in shock and I was in utter disbelief. My manager was so good to me the whole time. I was handling 4 major projects as SME where my technical lead had none. Later I have heard from individuals that it was technical leads call to lay me off so that his job is secured. I have worked so hard, I was the go-to guy by lots of mangers and technicians in the fields, I have travelled everywhere in North America to solve the problems, saved so much for the company, but at the end of the day I couldn't keep my job that I had loved and was immensely passionate about. Up until today, I am still searching for a true answer.
I am still positive that one day sooner than later I will join TC Energy again to work hard and add value to one of the best companies.

I was the goto person - worked more than I got paid for.
Was the Team lead.
I received multiple awards and recognitions through out.
And one fine morning I was let go. I havent received compensation yet; Its been a nightmare ever since.
White guys get laid off too. Ask me how I know!
Sorry was supposed to be 4 weeks per each years service up to 22 months max depending on role at final severance
4 weeks a month for up to 22 months maximum
How was the severance package?
You are not alone. These white guys kicked talent, hardworking immigrants out to make them safe. I was laid off with high performance scores/awards/top reputations. TC experience is still my nightmare.
