I dont understand why everyone doesnt like Staples. I came to this country they game me a job. Paid me 100k per year. Gives me a raise and a bonus every year. I get to work at home. This is pretty much the best company to work for who treats their employees with integrity and respect. And being a woman in technology puts me at the top of their awesome list.

You must be the only woman in your team and from the same country. how many Americans are there? Hardly! Jobs are based on favoritism so don’t be surprised if get axed eventually, so the vp or director can bring in another guy from their home country
Take your head out of the sand. Are you not aware of the rounds and rounds of layoffs since SP bought Staples? Is this news to you? Are you unaware of the failure of leadership such as RS and SG to evolve the business to face the growing threat of Amazon? Everything Staples sells can be purchased more cheaply and faster on Amazon. Oh, and there is also ODP, which offers essentially the same products and services. IT has always been a weak spot at SPLS, so I hope you do not get RIF'ed.
To truly understand the context of the less than positive comments about Staples vs why you think of it as a great place to work, you need to know some history:
Numerous people have been let go or the value of their role diminished. These are the same people that had been part of the growth and original foundation of the company. They helped build a winning culture for over a decade or two. They experienced teamwork, "ownership" mentality, mutual trust, great leadership and a compensation that was fair for the results that was delivered.
Over the years, a toxic culture was created due to the incremental removal of these values, favoritism of associates without true accomplishments or skills for the positions for which they had been promoted, consultants with little knowledge of the business/culture making suggestions that led to poor outcomes and the acceptance of political narratives that moved the focus of business to social topics making it difficult to know what is the top priority.
It is only natural to have real feelings about a company and it's leadership when it failed to understand it's customers/associates as the business changed and to blame the same associates for its decline.
From a customer end user standpoint, Staples technology is just terrible. I doubt the talent is on par with companies like Amazon and Google.
The vast majority of the Staples population of employees makes well under 100k. What an insensitive post. But congrats to you, now how about you earn that 100k - the Technology is a joke at the company. Not cutting edge and doesn’t work way too much of the time.
SO TRUE about all the great and talented people that have lost their jobs....and the families ruined! Just be prepared because it will be very cold-hearted when they lay you off! Take care everyone!
“Treats their employees with integrity and respect” - which company are you referring to because it ain’t Staples. That’s for sure
They pay you 100k? Wow - that’s impressive for a person who doesn’t even know how to write English correctly - “game me “
Just wait until it you get blindsided and it happens to you ... you won’t think it’s it’s so great anymore.
I don't like Staples because thousands of great people have lost their jobs and their families have been ruined over the last 2 years. What's worse is how they do it. One day you're working, the next day you get a 1:1 on your calendar and then you're gone. I think you should step outside yourself and see what they've been doing and how you may be next.
