They want people to work for little money and take c-ap and say more please. So they will lay off and rehire those at that point in their lives.
I can relate. I was laid off in February after 20 years. I tried applying for 6 other jobs until finding a job with a different co in September and every time I got back the "not qualified" email. Once I finally started my new job they called to see if I wanted to come back to my old job, at base pay, of course. Umm no thanks.
Our whole department was laid off last October. When we were laid off they said our position had been eliminated. But not even a week later there were positions posted I under a different title, but the job description was doing the exact same thing we did.
File an EEOC. UHC replaces American workers with young India men so Silicon Valley trade arms with services with India. Think about it,, did you ever hear- "estimate high!!" UHC play book just like Anthem, Cigna and every financial institution. #FightBacj
6 months later. Your pretty lucky usually they post 30 days after. Wonder what took them so long.
This seems unusual. If your position is reposted, no matter the number of years they're asking for. If you don't have a job, why not apply for your old job again and see what happens. If you were qualified once, and they want to lower the comp, if you don't have a job and are eligible for rehire there is no harm in applying. Less money is better than no money and they have to hire equally regardless of age!
The same thing happened to me. My role was eliminated in October and my position was posted in January but it was posted a pay grade lower. They wanted to someone with 7-10 years of experience but only want to pay a below market salary. I hear from my old team that they can't get anyone to stay long enough in the position. You can find a better job at a company that appreciates you and pays you what you're worth. GOOD LUCK!
They sure did. Assuming you are 50 or over so say farewell. There are better positions for you.
