A large percentage of GE employees recently RIF'd by GE are over the age of 50. Is there a class action lawsuit for age discrimination in process? These employees are most vulnerable to landed another job.

Old thread but a good one. Document everything daily in your career. Some things today that you may not believe will make a case for fighting against your employer may make all the difference in the world in a dismissal case. Remember you are building on information over a very long period of years. At least preparing yourself for the witch hunt is better than doing nothing at all.
In many cases, these lay-offs were due to personal grudges. Employees that fell foul with the GE authority for some reasons that can not be terminated because of lack of a solid ground were laid off using the pretext of COVID 19.
Nothing new here ...

Old people are annoying anyway. They think they own these facilities. You don't....You work for them just like I do!
Have to agree with this post!
GE does seem to age discrimination, but is all for diversity - lol!
To go a step further the layoff benefits are different depending on what business/age one is laid off from, but we are one GE - Right!
Unbelievable how GE treated the long term older worker
Really the motivating factor was the pension, not the age.
