Internal moves to India and Poland? That's where the jobs are.

We are talking internal moves within STT via Talent Marketplace. HR has access to it without having to ask.

It’s against the law to ask by an employer what your salary is but they still ask. If you say that’s illegal they’ll just move onto the next applicant.

Isn't against the law in Massachusetts to base one's pay based on their previous pay or is it only against the law to ask?

Pay will not decrease. Not sure about title. If promotion, pay will not be >10% (internal mobility rules)

Can they offer you a new position with lower pay? If you rescues the lower paid position do you not receive severance?

For #2 - there will be an interview process.

Let me get this straight.

  1. ) They eliminate your job
  2. ) They place you in a new role without you having to interview for it.
  3. ) If you refuse, you get fired?
  4. ) if they do not place you, then you get a severance?

Does your new manager have any input on whether they actually want you or not?

Yes, you get a severance if they don’t match you with a job. If they match you, and you refuse, then no severance.

Love yourself and if you are in Talent Marketplace, use this time to update resume and get out. There’s much more to life than State Street.
