It's the 28th and still haven't heard anything. Its been 6 months... why don't they just let us go already? I figured we would be brought back since holiday season is about to start.

K mart loss prevention corporate has been given the task of running all operations. We were the only ones called back to help. The email stated we are considered first responders and have merchandising, staffing and online orders..
If you are furloughed through 9/39 and are still waiting for an email, check your spam folder.

When we last communicated on August 28, 2020, we anticipated the furlough to last through
September 30, 2020. Since then, the economic effects of COVID-19 have continued to impact
the US economy and, as a result, our company operations.
The Transformco leadership team has been taking an even closer look at our business and has
carefully explored all options available to us. The current economic environment prevents us
from allowing all furloughed associates to return to work and we have made the decision to
eliminate a number of positions across the organization. As a result, your position has been
eliminated and your last day of employment will be October 2, 2020.
The decision to reduce staff was an extremely difficult one given the years of service and
dedication demonstrated by so many of our associates. It is deeply unfortunate, but the current
environment makes these actions unavoidable.
We have prepared a detailed transition package and your individual documents will be emailed
to you by the end of this week. The transition package will cover your severance details in
addition to instructions on how to return company assets and retrieve your personal
belongings. We encourage you to visit our career website for current and future employment
opportunities at Transformco.
We very much appreciate your dedication and contributions to the company and wish you the
best in your future endeavors.

@2xue+17azhOwk Considering Sears has tried its best to stiff other employees during layoffs I am not holding my breath. I'm more interested in the "instructions to return company assets." I still have a laptop and two iPads, if they want them back I expect that severance package to be prompt.

Just got my severance email as well, worked at Hoffman Estates HQ too. Can't say I'm surprised or sad to leave this c-appy company but it would have been nice to know weeks ago. Good luck finding a new job now.
Just received corporate email moments ago. It explains that only some furloughed associates are coming back, many have been terminated. Details and severance packages will be mailed by end of week. I was one that was officially terminated. I worked in the Hoffman Estates HQ.
All furloughed workers show up tomorrow right? For liquidation?

Called back for holidays. Lp needs help with catching shoplifters.. glad to be back in the saddle stopping crime at store level. Looking at employees who misuse shop your way to.
My last email from HR said the next update is the 30th.
I didn't realize there were still people on forlough waiting to go back. I figured they had all given up by now. I am a former Sears employee who was laid off when our Sears store closed in February. I received a letter recently from Transformco asking me if I would be interested in coming back to Sears for seasonal employment starting the first of November. The closest Sears store to me is over an hour away. Sounds like they are desperate. Fat chance.
