Can anyone describe what the experience was like, what exactly happened? I'm pretty sure I'm slated to be cut and would like to know what to expect. Did your immediate supervisor send you a meeting invitation and that was the first you knew of it? If you worked at home on a company laptop, how were you told to return it? What was the severance package like? Were you given any time to wrap stuff up, say goodbyes? And so on.

We were told on a web meeting. And given the rest of the day off. Severance package info will be sent in the mail.
Countries with pro employer laws are not paying out any severance anymore. Anywhere else will give minimum requirements unless in a senior position, VP & above.
I've heard the 'no severance' rumor before. And that's all it was, a rumor.
That severance is no longer in place.
Yes, meeting with direct supervisor, no warning. Most are let go right then, some are required to stay on to train replacement. FedEx labels are sent to you to return your equipment. Severance was 16 weeks of current pay. It's worth hanging in there, as long as you're making decent money, to stay and wait for the layoff to get severance and vacation payout.
