Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Teradata is a joke? or not? $SNOW v $TDC on Wall Street.

So Snowflake IPO'd a few weeks ago. How are they faring at the moment:

Current valuation: Snowflake: $250 bucks a pop and ~$70 Billion market cap
Teradata: $23.2/share and $2.5 Billion and change mark. cap

Is Teradata:
A) Going to make it - say in the next 12-18 months?
B) Going to be acquired by some VC or even Snowflake? or
C) Get eaten up and spit out by Snowflake?

Dell already owns Greenplum which is now part of VMware Tanzu and runs on K8S. I doubt that they will be aquiring Snowflake or any other Database anytime soon.

Dell are going to buy SNOW. They need a data warehouse technology to add to their stack. And SNOW needs a way into on-premise rather than just remaining as just "another" cloud only company

How do you convert company’s to a fraction of the capabilities? Doesn’t work that way.

Snowflake will buy tdc, and the convert all existing customers over for free. It makes them a large provider overnight

Patents are a possible incentive. Still broad customer base would be one too. 400mln + revenue per quater are not bed either. The only problem is no future

No one wants to invest or buy Teradata even in a “fire sale” scenario.
