Rescinded Warns

What’s this rumor about rescinded layoffs. Around 700 Warns pulled back?? Is this true? Can’t find any info.

Yes some WARNs were recalled. Also some put in for the VLO, but were denied. We learned their jobs were considered critical. Stay safe!

Boeing had planned to laynoff 16k. That was not enough to stop the bleeding. They never gave another number, they just said there will be MORE than 16k. My best guess is around 29k when this is all over.

One thing i have learned in my time is that Boeing WILL hit their number for layoffs.

Typically at the beginning they say "cut x% from each group". They don't have a business plan, they don't look at how much work there is, they just say CUT.

Then they figure out that they can't do the work they have with that many cuts in a specific job code. So they recind some of the Warns. However, for each one they remind, they cut one in a different job code. It is a one to one zero sum game. And yes, to them, it's a game.

So, if you thought you were safe and you start seeing WARNs rescinded, now is the time to prepare to be unemployed. They WILL hit their number.

From what I had heard many years ago a Warn statement can be extended one time only or has to be removed or cancelled. No idea if this is still true with current events.

As stated before, it was bds and select other grades. I know of 2 qt’s that were extended for 6 months.

My personal opinion is they are trying not to layoff as many as people estimated in hopes things will start to turn around. Some of it is based off the Max. The 787, if it goes away, won’t happen immediately. And depends on what happens with the 777 slow downs supposedly in January.

Again just my thoughts. I’m worried about layoffs too.

Take care.

Yes a lot were pulled back, i think i saw it on speea website but most of those are from corp and BDS , only in single digits in BCA. But that news is more than a month old. And i don't think number was that high. close to 100. No idea what this 700 thing is specially if it is recent.
