Of the 10,000 layoffs over half are coming in the US. In just the first 2 days I’ve learned half my team is laid off, over two thirds in Projects, Wells. Obliteration of the upstream to make up for so many tier 2 and tier 3 leaders from the segment. Sad but, I think we all will see how lucky we are to get out before the worst happens. Lower pay, more work, blind spots in MoC, bad process integration......there will be a reckoning.

I am trying to be optimistic about the new organization, but like other first line managers I went from 'manager' to 'staff' as my title. Not knowing anything, I feel I got demoted. I am going to give the new organization it's due and if I don't like the direction, I'll find a new place to work.
For those who remain there are non-discernible titles with consulting/IT Agile names like Units and Squad Leads and Advisors that will take a great deal of explaining to prospective future employers. Upstream titles lowered from Team Leads to Analyst and Manager to Lead that will appear as demotions. Spans of control and accountability will be huge with equivalent titles in other business sectors un-relatable. Surely not meant to demoralize but, it absolutely will nonetheless for those who have to update LinkedIn from a Executive sounding title to a “Squad Leader” role. Why?
BP's severance is considered top-quartile. it was mentioned that the package is going to be reviewed in the new year, most likely that drew a good 2,500 to express EOI.
What are the changes in the severance package?
This isn’t true at all. 2800 of the 10000 are in US, 2700 were elective EOI and the rest are other regions.
Yep and a change in the severance package
