Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

This feels like c-ap

I can't be the only one who's having trouble watching (and experiencing) what's been happening to Exxon lately. We used to be number one. I was proud of this place and working here. Not anymore. Now I have to watch as something I believed in is systematically destroyed by bad decisions and the greed of those on top - and there is nothing I can do about it. And that feels like c-ap.

Can’t blame DW for trying to save his job. He only has one job and that is to pay out the dividend. He’s not going to give a sh– for lowly employees who’s earning less than .1% of what he’s earning on an annual basis. Get real.

Anger and frustration are more palpable not in those who’ve lost their jobs, but in those who realize they have been duped and can’t swallow the lies any more. The incompetence, the deceit, the hubris, the greed, and the betrayal of our leaders. That’s what has become all too evident.

Exxon will be a case study in any business program about why and how organizations fail: culture, strategy, purpose. A total collapse of trust.

And now the blame game is all consuming. No amount of layoffs will fix that, in fact, it will only exacerbate the dog eat dog, backstabbing mentality, not to mention the all complacent, all accommodating, of the yes men (and women) who care only for their career advancement.

If you were here in the 80's, during the Valdez oil spill, during the merger, etc. you will remember how hard those days were and we came out ok. Keep the the faith people.

Guys, don't forget - we have "Growing with Purpose", NLI - near loss incident analysis, QI- questionable items, LPO - loss prevention observation, LPSA - all these acronyms make ExxonMobil great. And the geniuses who created these acronyms are noble laureate class with amazing vision. No other set of managers and their brown nosed employees in any other company have mastered the art of perennially looking stressed, worried and busy. Growing with purpose - never forget. I see ExxonMobil forging ahead.

Two joker management a55es below supporting their toxic culture and telling others to find other companies.

You dirt bag supervisors, managers, fake advisors, team leads and s—er employees have consistently done a pathetic job. You know you are worthless piece of ExxonMobil shhit and non hirable anywhere else and this the reason you continue to propagate the bad culture.

EM was once (is) a great company. If you no longer like what you see then put on your bigboy pants and find other work.

I agree, it is sad. It started 10 years ago. But it has accelerated in the past few years. Tough to watch a good organization be damaged by poor leadership.

The same could be said about the U.S. And I don’t mean the current administration—the problems started decades ago.
