This sounds similar to what happened at the Des Plaines Kmart, but not quite the same. They announced closure of the local warehouse in Manteno and shortly after they announced the closure of the store itself. The final day of operations for the distribution center was March 27th, and for the store, it was April 11th. This suggests however that they instead shipped the warehouse's merchandise to other warehouses. Or, they could've been emptying out the warehouse for months and decided to close it along with the store as soon as they ran out of merchandise. As for your situation, they probably decided to close the warehouse once they ran out of merchandise, but decided the store was profitable enough to continue operating, so they just started receiving merchandise from the next closest warehouse. The fact that there is mostly just boxed appliances remaining is likely just a part of the problem stores are having receiving more merchandise.
