Wondering if people are buying or leasing outside the Ford and Lincoln brand?

I’ve never driven a domestic vehicle except an old Corsica as a college car which I ended up selling to a junk yard for $50 :) , that was the day I decided that I will never buy a domestic vehicle, even though I’ve worked for all major domestic OEMs ;) ... always driven the Germans or the Japs, and intend to continue doing so ... not because I ain’t proud American, just because I don’t want to waste my hard earned money just because some id–ts at the top of the ladders don’t know how to make the right decisions.
Toyota and Subaru
Just a note from the supply base, as Ford continues to offshore domestically produced products the number of F-150's in our parking lots shrinks. We had 186 F-150's and now down to thirteen. Actions have consequences.
My extended family has switched to Chevy. My son has been driving a Chevy Cruze for the last two years and has been happy with it. Great gas mileage and no problems at all. I owned a couple of Mazda’s and found them to be quality vehicles. I didn’t replace them with new Mazda’s because I found the maintenance and repairs to be unbelievably expensive. I had a 626 and the 50,000 maintenance was $500 and that was a number of years ago.
I was one of the 100-plus "lucky" LL6+ employees in PD who got a demotion and a pay cut in the so-called Smart Redesign instead of being walked out the door. The other PD employees I've met who received this treatment are also white, male, over 50 and enrolled in the pension plan. My daily driver Ford Fusion was an owned car rather than a management lease, so I'm still using it. When the time comes to replace it, Ford and Lincoln will not be on my shopping list. I will probably shop for a used Mazda6, Chrysler 300 or Honda Accord instead.
You were SRD'd over a year ago and you still hang out on here to complain? Get a life lol
Have no idea what my next car will be, but do know as an SRD'd employee it will never be a Ford product. In fact, I can honestly say I feel obligation to purchase anything made by a company who discards valuable employees because they are nearing a retirement milestone.
I wonder did upper mgmt include in their "who will be terminated" formula - how much money the company would lose when family/friends of SRD employees show solidarity and stop buying Ford vehicles as well...?
I bet that might have changed a few of their algorithms.
I plan on looking at Honda, Toyota, and perhaps a Korean import.
And... when others do this and see how nice they are - they will use these brands for SUVs as well.
I live in a neighborhood with many LL6 and LL5. They are the only ones driving Ford products (obvious reason). A few others have them as beater cars for their kids. Majority are the imports.
