Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Covid rising cases

With the covid rising cases and a lot of employees that have returned to the office after October.

The silence of the 100s of people who have tested positive is scary.

Until the vaccine is available it would make sense for work to be remote. A lot of folks have underlying ailments and can’t cope with covid. A co worker in my group has lost 3 immediate family members to Covid

I went back to the office in late October and the next week I immediately got covid. I did not feel safe at the office and that was the only place I went. Once you report you have it to hr they have a company nurse call you and she was so unsympathetic. Thankfully my boss was more so. They used to report who has covid in the company, but no longer. I wonder why that is? Why are they so hush hush about it now? Could it be since they made people return to the office that there have been an onslaught of cases? Yet they want to make everyone feel 'safe'.

Nick cea. You should do well there for a little while as you sound like a good A– Kisser to incompetent Leaders.

Don't kid yourself. No matter how important or valued you think you are as an employee in this company, you are really just a number. The so-called leadership at Enbridge are mostly incompetent narcissists that don't generally know what they are doing or who they are doing it to. Watch your back, no matter how secure and comfortable you feel.

Nothing like feeling under valued. Tell me, why are employees so expendable in this company?

I feel bad for the field employees. They are definitely carrying much of the load since March (and before, to be honest).

Unfortunately it seems the company isn’t really concerned about field personnel, we have been working non-stop since March. One would think we could be eligible for hazard pay since we are out here with numerous contractors from all over the place. But nope just told to where a mask, and get to work, ohh and we gave back 3%. Meanwhile getting phone calls from everyone that is working from home asking if stuff is done.

Sadly, it all comes down to a reduced head count, a quiet but effective ELT plan. PLUS, I know the company once had life insurance on employees ( really, they used to value us so much they insured the cost of replacing a skilled employee ).

If the insurance policy is still in place it's a two for one. Reduce head count and cash in. It could really help out 4th quarter results "OTHER INCOME" on the P&L.

I wonder if they would have legal rights to employee corpses. They could sell them to medical schools.
