Thread regarding Mars layoffs

The fall of Mars wrigley

So much has changed in fours years. Mars wrigley no longer feels like a family owned company and no longer follows its 5 principles, unless it’s for a press release. The convienience store team was completely gutted as the business switches to third party coverage to save money. The micromanaging is absolutely insane. Reports about reports about reports. KPIs change constantly and change when you get close. Priorities change from week to week. Leadership here needs to be fixed if they want any success in the future.

I worked at Mars on the confectionary side for a year. As an outsider coming from a different background than food I can tell you Mars has never followed the 5 principles. A lot of changes are needed at that place. It’s terrible, if Mars sold literally anything else besides candy/pet food they would be sunk. So inefficient ,a complete JOKE of a company. They need to set fire to everything and rebuild.

OMG you are so right on.. The company is strictly living off the brands now.. The family cares more about their pets than their employees. They only show up when they feel like boozing it up.
