ELT conducts a 1:30 Hr meeting to repeat what everybody already knows!
- Transparency :
No details about RIF or cost-saving measures were provided (# of people/projects let go, real estate locations identified for closure).( " We are a very transparent organization" )
- Financials:
- Lackluster results are touted as a "great quarter" ( again, we are an honest company)
- ARR as a market valuation multiplier of 5x range - a hypothesis pushed by CFO for the past three years proves to be some illusion. (Oh... forgot... it is now the cloud, not ARR that matters to the market)
- CFO presentation lacks a professional approach - no road map with aspirational goal posts presented for the next two years that would have convinced us that we are on a "profitable" way to the near future (roadmap)
- Marketing:
As per MCs answers to question on Yammer, it is only now they have the direction on cloud ..... (really?) > Where were all sleeping last three years when the market was moving towards cloud .... and in every meeting and forum we ridiculed Snowflake )
- Strategy :
New CSO appointed ... and as if he is now an "insider" for a longtime, an "outside" consulting firm - McKinsey - is appointed to validate "our" strategy!
BTW, how many companies with $3 billion revenue have a CSO ? just check around and you will be surprised !!
(Didn't we had a "visionary" CEO last year who gave us a grand strategy? ..... and he got fired not because of strategy but lack of execution)?
- Professionalism:
Just because the CEO talks with a Scottish accent, we do not get professionalism. Repeating words like "fantastic" with a Scottish accent does not make the team professional.
- An ELT member takes the captive audience to tell about his same-s-x partner
- An ELT member implies that the organization is racial without any evidence
- No clarity about how we need to execute cloud strategy except chanting " cloud-first" 100 times
- The new transformation member of the ELT just sits around blinking .... what was the work done in that area since last ELT townhall ?
