What has amazed me over the last 6 years is the erosion of culture and knowledge that was Teradata. How many Cisco employees can they bring in, that have failed one after another. SY, TB, BD and others. They thought we were selling commodity products (what color would you like). Last time I checked, data management and what TD was best at was not that way. It was a strategic sale. Things are certainly different now in the totally distributed world - but never understood the Cisco connection to leadership. Routers = ?
As long as they’re a freak or geek. No normal people need apply.
Pat Finn was one of the best LT members - really ?
The guy was yet another empty suit, employed by a CRO who was full of BS and couldn’t maintain the existing revenue, let alone grow it.
Best out of the way to allow someone professional and capable to the job.
Peace and love, nuts and fruits, everyone gets a trophy. C’mon man, this is a business try behaving like one. Present offerings that the marketplace is demanding. Leverage the core competencies that Teradata has and focus on revenue and the bottom line. Stop worrying about millennials safe spaces and go sell something. Oh wait, everyone that understands how to sell and implement Teradata is gone. Good luck. Glad I liquidated at $38.

Such irony and bs in this comment. I agree that Pat Finn Is a great person but the rest of your post is pure bs. Teradata was a great company until several of the inexperienced ELT starting with Grandpa Vic took it down regardless of their ethnicity, gender or s-xual preference. Teradata isn’t better than anything now including a non draining, stinking stench hole.
Pat is a wonderful executive with empathy. He is not being considered as a candidate for consideration ( even if not finally selected ) for CRO. So, he is leaving for a different company.
Dan is a great choice for a subsititute as he is unlikely to leave for a better job.

At some point CEO SM needs to look in the mirror and ask if everyone sees this as such a wonderful opportunity why are they leaving?
But don't worry, they have launched immediate search for a diverse candidate to fill his shoes. Another very sad day at Teradata where we see the ELT and especially SM flailing.
