Just found this website added on the main corporate website. https://transformcoproperties.com/

Note to “Grammar Police” @xeq+17T4P5IA. Why do you capitalize last mid-sentece. Don’t start a sentence with and.

@xeq+17T4P5IA It's "you're" not "your", and "stone COLD", not "stone CALLED". Where do some people Learn grammar? And it is important to the statisticians and counters on here.

Guys, it's not hard to find closing lists nowadays. Literally all 7 stores are listed on the liquidation company's website including Manchester, CT.

San Juan in fact has two Kmarts as well as a Sears, because Rio Piedras is another section of that city.

The date of the "Completed Transaction" for Sears in White Plains, NY, by the way, is way back on January 31, 2020.

The list of "Operating Stores" on the TransformcoProperties site is almost the same as our known lists of 34 Kmarts and 67 Sears that are still open (including the 7 that are about to liquidate). A few differences:

  • Sears in Aiea, Hawaii, is not on the TransformcoProperties site at all
  • Sears in White Plains, NY, is listed as a "Completed Transaction" rather than an "Operating Store". This is one of the seven Sears stores known to be liquidating soon.
  • Sears in Mesquite, TX, is listed as a "Completed Transaction" rather than an "Operating Store", even though it is still open. The transaction date is April 9, 2020. Will it be closing soon?
  • an auto center in San Antonio, TX is listed as an "Operating Store".
  • Three "Operating Stores" are listed for Plaza Las Americas in San Juan (Hato Rey), Puerto RIco. That shopping area has both a Sears and a Kmart. I'm guessing that the third property is a separate Sears Auto Center in an outparcel.

Jobs listings don’t mean anything. All stores will have seasonal job postings open right now. The only time that would matter is after the first of the year.

He also owns a number number of properties and stores that were closed over the past few years and are currently sitting empty.

Nope. The deal for White Plains was cut back in January this year and we found about the closing via WARN a week or so ago.

Looks like we’ll get the info more quickly through either job listings or external links. The completed transactions listed here are ones we found out were closing months ago.

And we will probably see "SOLD" or "LEASE AGREEMENT" on a property on that site well before the closing store jobs are posted on the other site.

He may not own the properties, but if he owns the leases, those are still assets that he can sell to any other retailer who may want to take them over until those leases expire.

Further, to what the below poster wrote, the majority of Kmarts/Sears properties aren't even owned by him, they are merely leased. This website linked offers virtually no information as to those locations. Honestly, it's really much to do about nothing.

But we Knew that like 100 Years ago (back when we found out that 2+2=4, & that Water is Wet)! Of course he's closing both chains. But this site doesn't really show which ones are closing when. It just shows a plethora of locations nationwide, most of which have nothing to do with any current Sears operations.

It's a clear indication that Transformco intends to fully wind down both chains.

This has almost zero bearing on which stores are still open, and offers little, if any, insight into which (of the 30 + Kmarts and 60, some odd Sears) are closing. So not sure what this really teaches us, if anything.

So the Sears White Plains location is slated for closing and already has another lease assignment. Welcome to the transformation.
