Thread regarding Splunk Inc. layoffs

Where are you now?

I knew a few people who were let go in the middle of the year and I haven’t heard from them since. I do understand there might be resentment over that and them not wanting to keep in touch. But I would like to hear from those of you who would care to share on where you are now? Did you find a new job? Hopefully, something better? I’m sure more of us who are still here would like to know that you have gotten back on your feet.

Be careful Splunk will try to cheat you when they do layoffs. They give only one month salary as severance forceach year of employment but because the layoffs are based on retribution and not performance YOU MUST DEMAND MORE MONEY FROM THEM !!!

When they gave me my severance letter it stated that I should contact the head of HR with any questions that lady was Tracy Edkins. I emailed her and the HR rep and told them the money was too small and demanded more money. They had no choice but to increase my final bonus to give me more severance. Miss Tracy was fired for misconduct and negligence along with other executives under the CEO and the other HR ladies who did the dirty work quit because the heat was on due and they were finna get fired.

I was laid off at Splunk. I cleaned up their mess and knew all their dirt. My current company is very large and well known. I was involved in choosing a new monitoring platform for my company I purposely rejected Splunk because their product and company was so poor.

The sale went to a competitor and it was multi-year and many millions of dollars a sale Splunk desperately needed.

Many who got laid off got better jobs. I got a $75k raise at another IT job the highest salary in my career well over 200k. Splunk doesn't pay as much as they or outsiders think because they dangle stock options but the environment is very amateurish and chaotic others who are jealous of you will stab you in the back to hide their mistakes and steal credit for your work. They couldn't build secure software or know how to host software period. Splunk does on-premise hosting and is not a SaaS company they're a laughing stock in the industry. They're all incompetent.
